Lessons learned from Blogging and a decision point
I have now been a blog owner for 9 months! My very first post was at the end of November last year. I only really think of myself as a blogger from February this year though, when I started blogging following my move to my lovely home on the coast, about my work on my home and garden. In this post I’m sharing a little of my learnings so far, and asking for your help in deciding if, and how, the blog should move forward.
How’s Your Garden Growing this month?
Last month I joined bloggers around the World for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day and got lots of positive feedback. So thank you everyone who gave encouragement and advice to this novice gardener! I also posted when I first moved into The Creative Coastal Home, The Novice Gardener by the season: Winter, showing my garden by the seasons. This month I’m updating you on what’s in bloom in my English north-east coastal garden in Spring. Plants are starting to bloom – warning this post is photo heavy!
What Camera is Best for Blogging?
It’s no secret that my biggest challenge as a new blogger is photography. I’ve always been a point and shoot photographer, and relied on being able to just take a lot of pictures then select the best one. Now I want to be giving my readers clear and accurate photo guides of how-to projects, before and after room schemes, and inspirational landscape shots of the beautiful coast and countryside. So I really need to up my photography game! This post is dedicated to my research on cameras to date, in the hope that it’ll help others, and that I’ll get some feedback to help me in my final selection of my new blogging camera.
How’s Your Garden Growing?
Back in February I posted the first in my series: The novice gardener by the season, the Winter Edition. I moved to my Coastal Home at the end of January so I’ve just been discovering my garden. You’ll have to wait a while for the Spring Edition, where I’ll take you thorough what I’ve done so far, and the lessons learnt to date. In particular I’m trying to get some fruit and veg growing underway!
This month I’ve joined the Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day, hosted by May dreams gardens. Each month bloggers around the World post pictures of their gardens in bloom! Here’s my March Edition to give you a taste of how The Creative Coastal Home garden is looking.
