  • TO BLOG, OR NOT TO BLOG?

    Lessons learned from Blogging and a decision point

    I have now  been a blog owner for 9 months! My very first post was at the end of November last year. I only really think of myself as a blogger from February this year though, when I started blogging following my move to my lovely home on the coast, about my work on my home and garden. In this post I’m sharing a little of my learnings so far, and asking for your help in deciding if, and how, the blog should move forward.

  • WHAT’S BLOOMING IN THE GARDEN IN JULY?

    What’s blooming in July and creating a Garden Diary

    It’s time for the monthly round-up of what’s happening in the garden! I’m now into that tricky time of trying to find days where I can work in the garden. For that I need 3 criteria to be met:

    1. Dry but not too hot
    2. Have the day free to work on the garden
    3. Be in the right mood for gardening

    I’m discovering days where all 3 criteria are met are pretty hard to come by. Anyone else have that problem? I  haven’t had many opportunities to do much this month, and my to do list is growing. At least I managed to plant my tomatoes and feed the fish! Read on for the round up:

  • THE IMPOSSIBLE SEARCH FOR A STATEMENT LIGHT

    How hard can it be to find a statement light???

    Any blog followers will know that I recently committed to a house rewire. As part of the rewire, I opted to buy the new lights for the entire house and get them fitted straightaway. However, one particular light set me off on something of a quest. Who knew it would be so hard to find a statement light for the hallway?
