A few years ago I started the tradition of knitting Christmas ornaments as gifts for some family and friends. They are really quick and easy to do, and add a bit of character to any Christmas tree!
These pictures were taken in a hurry prior to the ornaments being wrapped and sent on their way to their recipients in previous years, but they give you the idea!
My patterns came from the supplements that arrived with Christmas editions of knitting magazines.
If you’re looking for ideas for Christmas patterns here are some suggestions:
Twas The Knits Before Christmas quirky patterns from Fiona Goble
The Twelve Knits of Christmas another book from Fiona Goble. I saw this knitted up in a shop window once and it looked AWESOME. It’s definitely on my knitting bucket list, but it is something of a time commitment. If you’re looking for something a bit simpler try 55 Christmas Balls to Knit by Arne and Carlos. These are great if you’re looking for a decorations for a traditional tree, and you can make as few or many as you like.
If you’d rather look for some free patterns, I have a couple of pins on my Christmas Pinterest board of free Christmas patterns to try. Here’s a link to the board: Christmas Crafts
